Dr. Khuram Khan is a board certified Ophthalmologist. He is fellowship trained in retina and vitreo-retinal surgery. Dr. Khan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to earn his medical degree at Pennsylvania State University, where he served as Class President. Dr. Khan completed his internship in internal medicine at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York, Downstate in Brooklyn. Dr. Khan completed a fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at Tulane University under the tutelage of world-renowned retinal surgeon, Dr. Gholam Peyman. He completed additional retina fellowship training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Before moving to Maryland, Dr. Khan worked for several years in Las Vegas, NV where he ran a successful solo practice. Dr. Khan has served as an investigator in a phase 3 clinical trail and has published articles in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Khan was selected for Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctors of 2014, 2015, 2017 & 2018. This award is given to metropolitan Washington DC's finest medical practitioners. These doctors are selected by other doctors. Questionnaires were sent to 8,000 randomly selected area physicians asking them what doctors, in each of 40 specialities, they would send members of their families to. The top doctors were the ones with the greatest number of recommendations within their specialities. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be included on this list.
